The Spring Independent School District serves over 32,000 prekindergarten through twelfth-grade students in a diverse and growing district located 20 miles north of downtown Houston in a suburban area of Harris County that spans 57 square miles. The Districts ethnic breakdown is 38.45 percent African American, 35.9 percent Hispanic, 20.6 percent white, 4.8 percent Asian and Pacific Islander and 0.2 percent Native American.
The District has a total of 31 campuses, which includes three high schools, a high-school career academy, a ninth-grade center, six sixth- through eighth-grade middle schools, one prekindergarten through second-grade primary school, one third-through fifth-grade intermediate school, and 18 prekindergarten through fifth-grade elementary schools.
Spring ISDs student-to-teacher ratio is 22 to 1 for prekindergarten through fourth grade and 25 to 1 for fifth- through twelfth-grades. The District offers half-day prekindergarten classes for qualified four-year olds, full-day kindergarten, bilingual and English as a Second Language programs, gifted and talented programs and honors and Advanced Placement classes.
