The Tomball Indpenendent School District encompasses 83 square miles in northwest Harris County and southwest Montgomery County and is located approximately 30 miles from downtown Houston. The district currently educates over 9,000 students at 12 campuses. The ethnic distribution in 2005-2006 was 71.5 percent Anglo, 18.3 percent Hispanic, 6.7 percent African American, 3.1 percent Asian, and 0.4 percent Native American.
